Dear Sex and the City fans, please let me preface this by saying that my roommate stood next to Mr Big on the subway today. That is all.

For those of you who dont know, people have always said that the newest trends start on the 2 coasts and move inward as time goes on. So, with that said, I wanted to let my fellow Missouri loves know what trends are to come in 2 years, judging by the fact that they are popular right now. I chose 3 things that I cant go 5 blocks without seeing more than 1 person wearing... ENJOY!

1. Straw bucket hats

Maybe its because its been so warm here but this is a staple of NYC summer10 im finding. A light cami, leggings/shorts and a straw bucket hat and your ready to run around the city like you own the place. These are evvverywhere. Along with...


2. Ankle wrapping flops

These are arguably the most popular thing on the street here. Every color, texture, fabric, etc. ALL new yorkers have the ankle wrapping flip flop. I feel like I need to buy a pair to bring back to the midwest! haha but seriously these shoes are everywhere..literally. From older women, to young children, every type of style, etc. Buy a pair and be ahead of the trends! You heard it first...

3. Sheer Sheer Sheer!

I think its because it gets so hot here but the less you can wear here in the summer the better, im finding. As I said in an earlier post, you feel alll the weather changes here due to all the walking and exposure to the elements. A light lace shirt with a bandeau bra underneath is a fun way to switch it up. Ive fallen for this trend and I see it a lot...this picture shows a classy way to do it if its a little too risque for ya!

Just a few ideas for you friends in the center of the country! Maybe these trends will move a little quicker!
